The country of the many languages

1 december 2017 - Accra, Ghana

Although the main language is English in Ghana we noticed that most people tend to feel more comfortable talking their dialect. There are many different groups who all have their own dialect, however most people are able to speak the largest dialect. Also many people do not even speak English at all. However, most of the times we could work it out easily by using hands. Besides, as many people from Togo live in Ghana, Rachidatou could sometimes communicate in her dialect (kotokoli) with people. The dialect she speaks is spoken by many Muslims, thus in areas concentrated with Muslims we could easily communicate with the sellers. It was funny that sometimes people were talking about Sara without knowing that Rachidatou understands ‘’Kotokoli’’.
