A Dutch say: coincidence does not exist!

14 december 2017 - Accra, Ghana

Two days after the visit to the parliament building a young man was waving at us on the street. Sara said that it is not possible he waved at us since we are in Ghana and do not know many people here. However Rachidatou insisted on it that he really waved at us. When he came closer he began to talk to us and we recognised him! It was the student we met at the parliament building! Such a coincidence! A big city and still we met someone! We continued the day with him and he gave us a tour through the different ministries.

While walking through the city with the student we met in the parliament, we noticed that in certain neighborhoods of Accra people are very strict. For example when you walk on a road that is considered for cars but you just want to pass quickly, you are not allowed to, someone will appeal to you. The same goes for entrances for cars next to entrances for pedestrians, even if there is nobody driving and you just want to pass quickly! In certain neighbourhoods the community is promoting clean streets, which is a very good thing! When we were walking with the student we met at the parliament, Rachidatou let a paper fell on the ground by accident and 3 men started shouting at her: she was ruining the streets! We apologised and made clear that it was by accident and continued our way.

A coincidence does not exist!
