Los Angeles

14 januari 2018 - Los Angeles, California, Verenigde Staten

Trip to Hollywood
Rachidatou was very excited that we were visiting Los Angeles. One of the cities she definitely wanted to visit in the US was Los Angeles so that we could visit Hollywood. Los Angeles is the largest city in California and the second largest city of the United States! Due to the location of Hollywood in Los Angeles, a lot of the sights in the city are related to the entertainment industry. We visited the Hollywood Boulevard (including the Hollywood Walk of Fame which has the stars of more than 2000 celebrities!), the Hollywood Sign, the TCL Chinese Theatre, Sunset Boulevard and of course we also visited Beverly Hills! On top of that we had a tour on a bus that drove up the Hollywood mountains and drove past the houses of a few celebrities. We even think we saw Leonardo Dicaprio standing next to his pool!

Hiking in Hollywood
Like you must have known by now, we like to be active! So we decided to hike on the mountains of Hollywood to get a good view of Los Angeles. There are different authorized hiking trails that are open 365 days a year. While we were hiking we saw a mix of people who decided to hike that day: young, old, male, female. Luckily it was not too crowded on the trail. Of course we stayed focused on our surroundings just in case...you never know when you will see Katy Perry or Theo James during a workout..!

Sixflags & the arrival of our friend!
A friend of ours (Hafsah) decided to join us during our trip. The 14th of January we picked her up at the airport like real locals and Sara prepared a ‘welcome to Los Angeles’ dinner which was delicious! The next day we went to six flags! Six Flags Magic Mountain is the owner of the record of most roller coasters in an amusement park, so you can imagine how much we enjoyed the amusement park.

Pancakes at IHOP
We can really recommend the place IHOP! The pancakes are delicious. Funny thing was that Sara asked for plain pancakes with banana and other fruits...the woman was staring at her and said...we do not have other natural fruits...only sugared fruits. This is America, I forgot, my bad!

IHOP!Really good pancakes!

Goodbye LA!
After four pleasant days in Los Angeles it was time to say goodbye. The next stop? San Diego! We again took a Greyhound bus due to our good experiences with this organisation.
